1992, January 16: Research and production company “Ariadne” arranges educational courses. 1992, September: Ariadne College obtains a License No.1 for educational services – it was the first private educational institution in Chelyabinsk.
1996: Ariadne College is renamed as “Chelyabinsk Institute of Humanities” (CIH).
1997: Formal contact for students and lecturers’ studying abroad during one semester is established with the Academy of Humanities (Eichstätt, Germany). The project lasted for five years.
2001: CIH begins construction of its new building that became the most creatively different educational building in Chelyabinsk.
2003: CIH passes attestation requirements and obtains state accreditation for its 14 fields of training and specialties. The institute moves into its new educational building.
2004: CIH starts realization of a joint educational programme in collaboration with Salzburg Tourism Schools (Austria). A Beauty-Industry Management joint educational programme also begins at CIH in collaboration with Pivot Point, an international network of hairdressing schools. The first Russian Museum of 20th Century Fashion History is created at CIH under the guidance of famed fashion historian Alexander Vasiliev. Department of Costume Design is recognized as the best one in Russia.
2005: Federal experimental site for Russian and European educational programmes integration is created at CIH. CIH gets the Education Quality Mark for its long-term success in educational activities and quality training of graduates.
2006: CIH places in the Eureka Institute of Challenges in Educational Policy’s Author’s School contest as an “Innovation School”.
2007: CIH obtains a Gold Certificate of Quality and becomes a laureate of Global Quality Promotions programme (GQP). CIH also get the ISO quality certificate (ISO 9001:2000).
2009: CIH is renamed as “Russian-British Institute of Management” (RBIM). RBIM starts realization of joint educational programmes in International Management and Design in collaboration with the University of Wales (UK).
2010: Postgraduate programmes are launched.
2011: RBIM arranges practical training abroad in new placements: for students of Higher School of Service and Tourism – in China; for Design students – in Great Britain. RBIM becomes a laureate of the contest “100 Best HEIs of Russia” in the nomination “The Best HEI in the Sphere of International Collaboration”. RBIM Rector T.V. Usynina is recognized as “The Best Rector – 2011”. Department of International Service and Tourism wins a prize in the nomination “The Best Department of the Year”. RBIM Vice-Rector for Marketing and Development M.V. Usynin is honored with “The Person of the Year” diploma.
